Jay and Jennifer moved to the stunning mountain town of Estes Park, and immediately began searching for ways by which to contribute to the community and provide the retreat experience that visitors to Estes Park expect and deserve. The Landing has proven an ideal platform for both!
Jennifer grew up in a Washington State wheat farming family and following college, spent a decade as an Army Officer assigned to locations throughout the world. As a Blackhawk helicopter pilot she was deployed to both theaters of combat for 2 1/2 years, flying and organizing a variety of critical aerial missions. She was awarded the Air Medal twice for actions in combat and the Order of Saint Michael for her career contributions to Army Aviation. Her final Army assignment was to the United States Military Academy at West Point, where she worked for the Chief of Staff and a four-star General Officer. She is a wife, proud mother to three, a recent MBA graduate of Duke University, and loves living in the heart of the Rocky Mountains!
Jay has been coming to Estes Park his entire life. In 1947 Jay’s great grandfather built a small cabin in the Estes Valley. It inspired a family tradition of escaping the hot midwest summers for the crisp mornings, afternoon showers, and perfect days of Colorado. As a young man, Jay attended Cheley Colorado Camps in Estes Park, further enhancing his love for the community and Rocky Mountain National Park. Jay commissioned in the United States Army. During his 12 years of service he was deployed to both theaters of combat for nearly 3 1/2 years. He was awarded three Bronze Star Medals, two Meritorious Service Medals, an Army Commendation Medal with “V” device for Valor in combat, and the Order of Mercury. He recently earned a Masters Degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University in NYC, and is a graduate of the University of Colorado’s Leeds School of Business, earning an MBA.
